“Halos” literally means “salt” in Greek. Halotherapy, better known as salt therapy, is the therapeutic use of natural salt in a simulated microclimate, like a salt room or halochamber, which simulates the effects of actual salt mines. Developed as a drug-free and natural therapy by scientists and researchers, salt therapy brings a once inaccessible, natural, healing element from the earth to the doorsteps of our community.  Salt therapy is specifically used to help relieve and support clients with respiratory and skin ailments but, provides so much more.

Our salt room utilizes state of the art technology to reproduce the atmosphere of a salt cave with a monitored microclimate. During a salt session, dry salt aerosol micro-participles are dispersed into the salt room by our Halogenerator. The salt aerosol is then inhaled and penetrates deep into the lungs, nasal cavities, sinuses and bronchial tubes with normal breathing. Salt is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and mucolytic by nature. It reacts with the mucous present in the respiratory system and helps to loosen and move out. This environment is also very beneficial to exposed skin. The non-inhaled salt particles fall onto the skin, and with its anti-inflammatory proprieties, it can help improve circulation to the skins surface.

During sessions, halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical salt to a fine dust that is then dispersed into the room for you to inhale. Salt Rooms are designed for tranquility as much as therapy. Sit back, relax and breathe. If are with your child in the children’s therapy rooms, then it’s playtime. Children will love the toys, puzzles, and books. The children’s therapy room is a playground that little ones will love to explore.

You may wear whatever you would like to the sessions Comfortable clothing is best. The salt will not harm your clothes in any way. If you are coming for skin conditions, we recommend you wear clothing that will expose as much of the area of concern as possible. Shoes will be removed and replaced with disposables booties to cover feet or socks.

No, Salt Therapy is a complementary therapy and should only be used as an adjunct to medical advice.

As a result of eating too much salt, we can develop hypertension or high blood pressure, which increases the risk of Cardiac Arrest and Strokes. With Salt Therapy, however, the medical grade salt affects your respiratory system and not your stomach, heart or kidneys. Also, the concentration of salt is much less than that of our daily recommended allowance 0.5-10 mg/m3 (milligrams per cubic meter), compared to 6.0g (grams). Therefore, the amount of Salt entering your respiratory system is extremely low. Even if you were to ingest it, instead of breathing it, the amount of salt is insignificant.

No. It is fine to continue your medications as you need and as directed by your doctor. Since salt therapy is all-natural, it does not have any interactive effects with medications.
